Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and will close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to meet the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house which has a combined gross family income that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence money does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not submit any click here proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last website day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in my nsfas the processing of their application.
