Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are now open and will close on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house having a combined gross home income that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined house cash flow won't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their my nsfas application.
